Minister Tonči Glavina held a meeting with the tourism sector of Dubrovnik-Neretva County in Dubrovnik, where they discussed current and future activities.

The meeting was attended by County Prefect Nikola Dobroslavić and Mayor Mato Franković, along with key stakeholders of the county's tourism sector. This was the second meeting of this type held by the minister, following the meeting in Split-Dalmatia County in June.

„Dubrovnik-Neretva County this year records about a 10% increase in tourist traffic, which is significantly due to the return of guests from the USA and the UK, which are the two most important markets for this region,“ said Minister Glavina. He emphasized that Dubrovnik, as the most significant destination, recorded over 600,000 arrivals and almost two million overnight stays, which represents a 13% increase in arrivals and a 15% increase in overnight stays compared to last year.

„The growth of road and traffic in the whole of Croatia is evident. I am particularly pleased with the contribution of Ruđer Bošković Airport, which recorded a 25% increase in traffic in the first six months compared to the same period last year. We are aware of the importance of air traffic for the south of Croatia, but the results of the pre-season were also supported by the construction of the Pelješac Bridge, which connected the south of Croatia by road,“ added Glavina.

The minister emphasized that since 2016, the government has invested 34.9 million euros in projects in Dubrovnik-Neretva County and the city of Dubrovnik, of which 20.2 million euros were allocated in 2024 alone.

„Through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, more than 10 million euros have been allocated for projects by private entrepreneurs in Dubrovnik-Neretva County, while more than 8 million euros have been allocated for the development of health tourism through public tourism infrastructure projects for the KALOS Special Hospital. In addition, through the Tourism Economy Competitiveness program, this year we supported 16 projects worth 170,000 euros, all of which contributes to the development of the tourism product and the enhancement of the quality of the offer in this county,“ said Glavina.

The meeting was attended by representatives of professional associations, state institutions, emergency services, the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service, and firefighters.
