Shine and glamour marked the recently held exclusive event celebrating the successful start of operations for Molum Hotel & Residences, the new pearl of Croatia's tourist offer located in the picturesque Sveti Filip i Jakov. The elite of Croatian public, sports, and social life gathered to support the opening of this lavish five-star premium resort, which has set new standards of luxury on the Adriatic from the very beginning. Among the many distinguished guests who graced the ceremony with their presence were the head coach of the Croatian national football team Zlatko Dalić, retired general Ante Gotovina, Minister of Tourism and Sport Tonči Glavina, former Minister of Finance Zdravko Marić, entrepreneurs Ante and Petra Todorić, and many other famous faces.
The event was more than just a celebration; it was a meticulously orchestrated presentation of a vision that combines contemporary luxury, top-tier architecture, and a deep-rooted respect for Mediterranean heritage. Situated in one of the most desirable locations in the Zadar archipelago, the resort offers a spectacular view of the Pašman Channel and the surrounding islands, providing guests with a sanctuary of peace and refinement.
A New Star of the Zadar Riviera
Molum Hotel & Residences, as the first five-star resort in this part of Dalmatia, represents a monumental investment that redefines the region's tourist map. The complex extends over an impressive 25,000 square meters of outdoor areas and 12,000 square meters of indoor space, harmoniously integrated into the natural environment. It consists of 60 elegantly designed hotel rooms and 60 exclusive residences that provide the highest level of comfort and privacy. Every detail has been carefully conceived to create an ambiance of understated elegance.
The visual identity and interior design are the work of the renowned studio Velinda Dizajn, under the leadership of Velinda Ljubičić. Inspiration was found in the natural beauty of the Adriatic, which is reflected in the use of indigenous materials such as stone, warm wood, and jute. Neutral, earthy colors create a soothing atmosphere, while the rich horticulture surrounding the property gives the impression of staying in a lavish Mediterranean garden. The very name of the resort, "Molum," evokes a rich history, being inspired by the Latinized name of the ancient port of Rogovo, "Molum Rogue," from which today's Sveti Filip i Jakov grew over the centuries, thus creating a strong link between the past and the present.
A Strategic Step Forward for Croatian Tourism
The importance of this project for Croatian tourism as a whole was confirmed by the Minister of Tourism and Sport, Tonči Glavina. In his address, he emphasized that Molum Hotel & Residences represents the very direction in which Croatia wants to develop – a direction of high value-added tourism. Such investments, he pointed out, raise the bar for quality not only in accommodation but also in the overall destination experience, positioning Zadar County and Croatia as competitors to the most prestigious world destinations.
“Molum Hotel & Residences directly contributes to achieving the strategic goals of Croatian tourism. With projects like this, Croatia has the opportunity to become recognized as a destination that offers top-quality service and unique experiences, but also as a destination that responsibly manages its space, cares for the local community and quality of life," stated Minister Glavina. He extended special thanks to the investor, Jako Andabak, not only for this specific investment but also for his overall, long-standing contribution to the development and enhancement of the quality of Croatian tourism.
A Project with a Local Signature and Soul
Behind this impressive edifice stands the company Sunčani Resort, owned by the Andabak family, which has been synonymous with successful and recognizable hotel projects throughout Croatia for decades. Their business philosophy has been fully expressed here as well, with a special emphasis on cooperation with the local community and the use of domestic resources. This commitment is evident in the fact that more than 90 percent of the employees come from the local area, thereby directly stimulating economic development and the creation of quality jobs in the region.
“This is a place we envisioned as an oasis of comfort, beauty, and authenticity. I extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has woven a part of themselves into the creation of Molum Hotel & Residences. I believe we have created a value that will enrich not only Croatian tourism but also the life of the local community," said Jako Andabak. He noted with particular pride: "What makes me happiest is that this project was realized in partnership with our own people – from the architects and contractors to the diligent employees and numerous local suppliers. We believe in the strength and potential of the domestic workforce because Croatian tourism is not just made up of beautiful destinations, but above all, the people who lovingly shape and care for these destinations." The resort's gastronomic offer is based on cooperation with local farmers and fishermen, and almost all elements of the interior and equipment were produced in Croatia, giving the project an authentic domestic stamp.
Top-Notch Facilities for a Flawless Vacation
The grand opening was an ideal opportunity to present the range of top-notch facilities available to guests. At the heart of the gastronomic offer is the Maisa restaurant, whose concept is based on a contemporary interpretation of Mediterranean cuisine. The focus is on fresh, seasonal ingredients of local origin, which are transformed into unforgettable dishes by the skilled hands of culinary masters. For complete relaxation of body and soul, there is the exclusive Noku spa center, a sanctuary that offers a holistic approach to wellness through a range of revitalizing treatments and rituals.
A special asset of the resort is the Molum Marine Club. Namely, the investors have built and equipped a modern marina in the immediate vicinity, offering sailors a safe berth, the highest standards of service, and, most importantly, direct access to all resort facilities. With this move, Molum becomes an indispensable point for even the most demanding sailors, who now have an ideal starting point for exploring the Zadar archipelago and the Kornati islands, knowing that five-star comfort and luxury await them upon their return. Finding accommodation in Sveti Filip i Jakov has now become even more attractive for visitors arriving by sea.
Exclusive Events and Personalized Experiences
Numerous celebrities also enjoyed the relaxed and elegant atmosphere of the gala evening, including American models Jelena and Joe Weir, local model Nevena Dujmović, the popular hosting couple Korana Gvozdić and Ivan Šarić, esteemed architect Tina Biloglav, owner of the famous hair salon Zvonimir Franić, and makeup artist Karlo Rusan. They all had the opportunity to experience firsthand the unique blend of tradition and modernity that defines Molum.
In addition to accommodation, the resort is designed as a platform for creating unique experiences. Numerous possibilities were presented to business partners and guests, from organizing attractive events, through carefully planned excursions to nearby national parks and islands, to relaxing movie nights in the open-air cinema. The offer also includes creative workshops, yoga classes, and a kids' club with a rich animation program, making Molum an ideal destination for families as well. A personalized concierge service is available to fulfill all wishes and plan additional activities, ensuring that every guest can fully tailor their stay in Sveti Filip i Jakov to their own interests and create memories for a lifetime.
