The resort's terraces offer a spectacular view of the Pašman Channel, while the proximity to Kornati National Park and numerous other islands of the Zadar archipelago offers endless possibilities for day trips and exploring natural beauties. This extraordinary location makes Molum a perfect choice for those seeking an escape from everyday life, immersing themselves in peace, natural beauty, and the authentic Mediterranean atmosphere offered by Sveti Filip i Jakov.
Inspiration from a rich history
The name "Molum" itself draws inspiration from the rich history of the place. It is a Latinized name for the port of Rogovo, "Molum Rogue," from which the present-day settlement of Sveti Filip i Jakov developed over the centuries. This subtle connection between historical heritage and contemporary luxury permeates the entire concept of the resort, from architectural solutions and interior design to the range of facilities and overall atmosphere. Overlooking the crystal-clear sea, in the heart of a small but vibrant local community, and with service that rivals world standards, Molum Hotel and Residences firmly positions Sveti Filip i Jakov as a new hub of top-quality accommodation and service on the Croatian coast.
The history of Sveti Filip i Jakov dates far back into the past. The area of today's town was inhabited as early as the Liburnian era, as evidenced by the remains of dry stone walls and burial mounds. With the arrival of the Romans in the 1st century, economic buildings and country villas for Roman veterans emerged in this area. On the nearby islet of Frmić, the remains of a late antique cistern are still visible today. During the era of Croatian national rulers, the proximity of the royal Biograd na Moru gave this region additional importance. In the Middle Ages, the settlement belonged to the Benedictine abbey in nearby Rogovo. Until the 15th century, it was mentioned as Pristan (Rogovski pristan), serving as the most convenient sea access for the Rogovo Benedictines. In that century, it was first recorded in historical sources as San Filippo e Giacomo di Rogovo, named after a smaller church. The present-day old core of the resort town was formed during the 16th and mostly the 17th century.
Dino Sokol, CEO of Molum Hotel and Residences, highlighted the project's vision: “From the very beginning of construction, our intention was to implement the highest standards of comfort, design, and accompanying activities in Sveti Filip i Jakov. We are constantly guided by the philosophy that expectations exist to be exceeded. Therefore, Molum offers facilities tailored to all guest profiles, including a high-level gastronomic offer, lavish spa and wellness facilities, and creatively designed playrooms for our youngest visitors. The marina located in the immediate vicinity of the resort represents a special added value, both for our guests and for the entire destination.”
Impressive scope and investment potential
The Molum Hotel and Residences complex extends over more than 25,000 square meters of outdoor areas and includes 12,000 square meters of built structures. It consists of six elegantly designed buildings offering a total of 60 spacious hotel rooms and 60 luxury residences. This ambitious project represents an investment by the company Sunčani Resort, owned by the Andabak family, which is known for a series of successful hotel and tourism ventures throughout Croatia. The Andabak family has significant experience in the tourism sector, and their projects are often recognized for their quality and contribution to the development of Croatian tourism. As part of the project, the first phase of the Molum Marine Club port was recently opened next to the resort, and the owners are already preparing the opening of the second phase for the next season, which will further enrich the offer for boaters and visitors arriving by sea.
In addition to enjoying a luxurious holiday, the premium residences within the Molum complex are also available as part of an attractive investment program. The manager of Molum Hotel & Residences guarantees a minimum annual return of 5% of the total investment amount during the first four years, i.e., until the end of 2027. After this period, the expected return ranges between 4% and 6%. The residences are sold as condominium ownership, primarily intended for tourist rental, and the owners retain the possibility of using their property with all the benefits and services provided by Molum Hotel & Residences. This represents an attractive opportunity for investors seeking a secure return on investment with the possibility of personal use of the property in a prestigious Adriatic location.
Design inspired by the Mediterranean
The distinctive visual identity of Molum Hotel and Residences is the work of studio Velinda Dizajn, led by Velinda Ljubičić. Her team designed a space that is simultaneously warm, contemporary, and deeply inspired by nature and the Mediterranean environment. This aesthetic impression was achieved through the careful selection of natural materials such as wood, jute, and stone, and rich horticulture that gives the resort the character of a lavish Mediterranean garden. Molum's gardens are filled with native plants, olive trees, lavender, and rosemary, creating fragrant oases and numerous secluded corners ideal for relaxation and contemplation. These carefully landscaped outdoor spaces harmoniously blend with the resort's surroundings.
The interiors are also designed to encourage spontaneity, relaxation, and socializing. Spacious and bright, with an emphasis on comfort and functionality, the interiors offer numerous spaces for connection and pleasant stays, whether in hotel rooms, residences, or common areas. The color palette is inspired by the natural tones of the Mediterranean – shades of sand, sea, and stone, creating a soothing and elegant ambiance.
Gastronomy and other facilities as pillars of identity
Top-quality gastronomy, along with outstanding design and a rich offer of activities, is one of the key pillars of Molum's identity. The concept of the main restaurant, Maisa, is based on a contemporary interpretation of Mediterranean cuisine, with a strong emphasis on the use of fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients. These ingredients are sourced directly from local family farms (OPGs), ensuring the authenticity of flavors and supporting the local community. The menu of Maisa restaurant is dynamic and changes according to the availability of seasonal seafood, vegetables, and fruits, offering guests a unique culinary journey through Dalmatian flavors. Soon, a new coffee shop, Moka, will open within Molum, which will be the perfect location to enjoy specialty coffee, freshly squeezed juices, and light takeaway snacks, ideal for starting the day or a short break.
Guests of Molum Hotel and Residences can enjoy a diverse entertainment and recreational program throughout the season. Weekly activities include yoga and fitness classes for maintaining fitness and vitality, sophisticated local wine tastings led by experienced sommeliers, pleasant musical evenings with live performances, and various themed events designed to enrich each guest's stay. For the youngest visitors, there is a children's club with professional animation, a children's disco, a cinema, and numerous interactive games that encourage creativity and fun. A special gem of the offer is the Noku spa center, a haven of peace and relaxation, offering various types of saunas (Finnish, steam), a spacious whirlpool, and a wide range of massages and cosmetic treatments designed for complete revitalization of body and spirit. The offer of additional facilities is rounded off by two outdoor heated pools, ideal for swimming and relaxing at any time of the season, a special children's pool for the safe play of the youngest, the Mur pool bar with refreshing drinks and cocktails, and an attractive pebble beach just 150 meters from the resort, equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas.
