Global demand for luxury superyacht berths is reaching new highs, and a key player in this market, D‑Marin, is strategically expanding its marina network to respond to the increase in vessel numbers and owner demands. The growing number of superyachts requires specialized services, premium facilities, and global coverage, which is precisely what D‑Marin strives to provide in its marinas in the Mediterranean and the Persian Gulf.

Global Trends in Superyacht Construction

According to the Global Order Book report from BOAT International, as of September 1, 2024, there were 1,138 superyachts over 24 meters in length under construction or on order, representing a slight decrease of 2.4% compared to the 1,166 projects recorded a year earlier. Despite this moderate decline, the total length of vessels under construction amounts to 45,487 meters, while the total gross tonnage has increased by 5.3% to 577,482 GT, confirming the trend of growth in the average dimensions and volume of superyachts. The average length of a yacht in the order book is 40 meters, and the average gross tonnage is 507 GT, indicating that owners are increasingly choosing larger and more imposing yachts.

D‑Marin: A Partner in Global Yachting

Since January 2024, D‑Marin has continuously expanded its offering, establishing a presence in 25 marinas spread across 8 countries throughout the Mediterranean and the Persian Gulf. Today, this network offers more than 14,000 berths, over 1,000 of which are exclusively for superyachts, making D‑Marin the largest provider of specialized superyacht berths in the world.

New Marinas and Strategic Acquisition

To further refresh its portfolio, D‑Marin added five new marinas during 2024, highlighted by the acquisition of Porto Mirabello marina in La Spezia with 407 berths, a helipad, gourmet restaurants, and boutique shops. Additionally, D‑Marin won the tender to manage the Palma Cuarentena marina in Mallorca, expanding its regional coverage to the Balearic Islands.

French and Italian Riviera

As part of creating a cluster of premium locations, six of D‑Marin's marinas on the French and Italian Riviera are just one day's sail apart, offering superyacht owners a flexible and secure cruising route between Camille Rayon on the Côte d'Azur (86 berths) and Porto Mirabello (407 berths) in the Gulf of La Spezia, as well as other focal points in San Lorenzo, Aregai, Varazze, and Livorno (in partnership with Azimut‑Benetti).

Persian Gulf and Further Expansion

In the United Arab Emirates, D‑Marin further strengthened its position through the Al Seef, Jaddaf Waterfront, Marasi Bay, Marsa Al Arab, and Port De La Mer marinas, creating an interconnected system that easily directs the fleet of experienced boaters and charter companies throughout the region.

Croatian Destinations: Sukošan and Šibenik

Among the most important local points are the D‑Marin Dalmacija marina in Sukošan, for more information on accommodation see the accommodation offer in Sukošan, and D‑Marin Mandalina in Šibenik, for more information on accommodation see the accommodation offer in Šibenik. Both are equipped with capacities for yachts up to 70 meters in length, ensuring a safe and convenient base for short-term and long-term visits, along with a wide range of additional amenities such as top restaurants, relative proximity to airports, and organized transfers.

Innovative Services and Sustainability

Among the advantages of the D‑Marin network is the mobile application that allows owners and captains to remotely monitor vessels, manage energy consumption, and book services. Also, all marinas are equipped with shore power connection capabilities, and solar systems are being implemented in certain locations to reduce emissions.

Sponsorship of the Balearic Superyacht Forum

From April 29 to 30, 2025, the Balearic Superyacht Forum will be held in Palma de Mallorca, gathering global leaders of the yachting industry. D‑Marin, in its role as sponsor, brings its experience in managing premium marinas to the forum, while Commercial Director Dean Smith will participate in panels and present the vision of a connected, sustainable, and guest-focused future for yachting.

Tourism desk

Our Travel Desk was born out of a long-standing passion for travel, discovering new places, and serious journalism. Behind every article stand people who have been living tourism for decades – as travelers, tourism workers, guides, hosts, editors, and reporters. For more than thirty years, destinations, seasonal trends, infrastructure development, changes in travelers’ habits, and everything that turns a trip into an experience – and not just a ticket and an accommodation reservation – have been closely followed. These experiences are transformed into articles conceived as a companion to the reader: honest, informed, and always on the traveler’s side.

At the Travel Desk, we write from the perspective of someone who has truly walked the cobblestones of old towns, taken local buses, waited for the ferry in peak season, and searched for a hidden café in a small alley far from the postcards. Every destination is observed from multiple angles – how travelers experience it, what the locals say about it, what stories are hidden in museums and monuments, but also what the real quality of accommodation, beaches, transport links, and amenities is. Instead of generic descriptions, the focus is on concrete advice, real impressions, and details that are hard to find in official brochures.

Special attention is given to conversations with restaurateurs, private accommodation hosts, local guides, tourism workers, and people who make a living from travelers, as well as those who are only just trying to develop lesser-known destinations. Through such conversations, stories arise that do not show only the most famous attractions but also the rhythm of everyday life, habits, local cuisine, customs, and small rituals that make every place unique. The Travel Desk strives to record this layer of reality and convey it in articles that connect facts with emotion.

The content does not stop at classic travelogues. It also covers topics such as sustainable tourism, off-season travel, safety on the road, responsible behavior towards the local community and nature, as well as practical aspects like public transport, prices, recommended neighborhoods to stay in, and getting your bearings on the ground. Every article goes through a phase of research, fact-checking, and editing to ensure that the information is accurate, clear, and applicable in real situations – from a short weekend trip to a longer stay in a country or city.

The goal of the Travel Desk is that, after reading an article, the reader feels as if they have spoken to someone who has already been there, tried everything, and is now honestly sharing what is worth seeing, what to skip, and where those moments are hidden that turn a trip into a memory. That is why every new story is built slowly and carefully, with respect for the place it is about and for the people who will choose their next destination based on these words.
