The Tourist Board of the City of Krk also brings this year a unique musical and cultural event that celebrates tradition, contemporary music and community outdoors – Triola Kamplin Fest 2025. This fifth edition of the festival is located in the very heart of the historic Kamplin square, a place of rich cultural heritage, where from the end of June to the end of August the audience can enjoy a rich program that combines musical genres, local customs and top performers, all completely free of charge.

Triola Kamplin Fest – a blend of music, tradition and emotions

The name of the event is inspired by the musical figure triplet – a tone in music that signifies three sounds within a rhythmic unit. The symbolism is clearly designed: three program segments, each with a unique thematic focus, which together create a rich and diverse experience for visitors of all generations. This innovative festival structure represents a departure from classical events, with an emphasis on local identity, relaxed atmosphere and positive energy spreading through music and socializing.

Celebrate Local – an ode to island tradition

Within the Celebrate Local segment visitors will have the chance to experience authentic performances of traditional music and dances from Krk. The festival opens with the Folklore Society Poljica on June 24, which for more than 60 years has tirelessly preserved and promoted the rich dance and musical heritage of the island. Their performance will be followed by the City Music Krk, a wind ensemble with a long tradition that enriches every occasion with its sound and brings special festivity to Kamplin square.

The next event in this cycle, on July 8, brings performances by the Cultural and Artistic Society Vrh, known for excellent two-part performances and preservation of dances, and the only female klapa of the island of Krk, Klapa Vejanke, whose impressive singing conquers the hearts of the audience. This part of the program will be rounded off by the Cultural Society Kornić and Klapa Kaštadi on August 5, both ensembles dedicated to nurturing and promoting island folk music and tradition, doing so with special emotional sincerity and enthusiasm.

Easy Going – relaxed acoustic evenings

The Easy Going segment offers relaxed musical evenings in a more intimate tone, characterized by top vocals and carefully arranged acoustic arrangements. The first evening, July 3, is reserved for Joso Butorac, a vocal virtuoso interpreter of coastal musical tradition known for his belcanto style, who on stage brings a unique emotional depth and power.

On July 17, young Krk native Stefany Žužić performs with a trio, whose performances are marked by a blend of contemporary pop and r’n’b. Stefany has already won over the audience with her voice in the popular show "The Voice Hrvatska" and recently qualified for the Dora 2024 final with the song "Sretnih dana dat’ će Bog". With keyboard and bass accompaniment, Stefany will lead the audience through a series of emotional and quality performances that will surely leave a strong impression.

The last Easy Going evening, August 21, brings an atmosphere of intimacy and nostalgic charm with the Dino Antonić Acoustic Trio. Dino’s recognizable vocals, combined with acoustic instruments – guitar, piano and drums – create a special mood where evergreen hits and jazz standards alternate, providing visitors an opportunity to relax and enjoy top-class open-air music.

Good Vibes – musical fun for energetic evenings

Saturday evenings are reserved for Good Vibes – a series of concerts that bring energetic and dance rhythms. On July 12, Kamplin Square will be illuminated by ToMa, one of the most interesting young voices of the Croatian music scene. His success on the show "Tvoje lice zvuči poznato" and a series of hits, including the song "Prevari me osjećaj", made him one of the most popular performers on the domestic scene. His repertoire covers domestic and world pop hits, making his performances always attractive and diverse.

On August 2, the audience will be delighted by Grapevine Babies, a group of thirteen musicians whose funky and dance music conquers the audience on the Rijeka-Krk scene. Their lavish wind sections and dynamic rhythms guarantee an unforgettable time.

The final concert on August 23 belongs to the Bill Withers Tribute Band, a group of musicians from well-known bands gathered to revive the hits of the legendary Bill Withers. Soul, blues and funky classics such as "Ain’t No Sunshine", "Lean on Me" and "Just the Two of Us" will come alive on stage in a top performance that invites the audience to dance and sing, ending the festival in a celebration of good music and community.

Tourism desk

Our Travel Desk was born out of a long-standing passion for travel, discovering new places, and serious journalism. Behind every article stand people who have been living tourism for decades – as travelers, tourism workers, guides, hosts, editors, and reporters. For more than thirty years, destinations, seasonal trends, infrastructure development, changes in travelers’ habits, and everything that turns a trip into an experience – and not just a ticket and an accommodation reservation – have been closely followed. These experiences are transformed into articles conceived as a companion to the reader: honest, informed, and always on the traveler’s side.

At the Travel Desk, we write from the perspective of someone who has truly walked the cobblestones of old towns, taken local buses, waited for the ferry in peak season, and searched for a hidden café in a small alley far from the postcards. Every destination is observed from multiple angles – how travelers experience it, what the locals say about it, what stories are hidden in museums and monuments, but also what the real quality of accommodation, beaches, transport links, and amenities is. Instead of generic descriptions, the focus is on concrete advice, real impressions, and details that are hard to find in official brochures.

Special attention is given to conversations with restaurateurs, private accommodation hosts, local guides, tourism workers, and people who make a living from travelers, as well as those who are only just trying to develop lesser-known destinations. Through such conversations, stories arise that do not show only the most famous attractions but also the rhythm of everyday life, habits, local cuisine, customs, and small rituals that make every place unique. The Travel Desk strives to record this layer of reality and convey it in articles that connect facts with emotion.

The content does not stop at classic travelogues. It also covers topics such as sustainable tourism, off-season travel, safety on the road, responsible behavior towards the local community and nature, as well as practical aspects like public transport, prices, recommended neighborhoods to stay in, and getting your bearings on the ground. Every article goes through a phase of research, fact-checking, and editing to ensure that the information is accurate, clear, and applicable in real situations – from a short weekend trip to a longer stay in a country or city.

The goal of the Travel Desk is that, after reading an article, the reader feels as if they have spoken to someone who has already been there, tried everything, and is now honestly sharing what is worth seeing, what to skip, and where those moments are hidden that turn a trip into a memory. That is why every new story is built slowly and carefully, with respect for the place it is about and for the people who will choose their next destination based on these words.
