For the weekend, the event "Creska ovca" will be held on the largest Croatian island, during which the famous Alen Vitasović will perform. The aim of this event is to promote island sheep farming and the Cres sheep (pramenka) as an indigenous breed.

On Saturday, July 13th, the 16th edition of the "Creska ovca" manifestation will be held in Orlec, dedicated to the Cres sheep which has been the provider for islanders throughout history. The Cres sheep, which lives freely in an environment rich in wild plants, is known for its resilience and adaptability. Although wool used to be the main product of the Cres sheep, today it is young Cres lamb and Cres sheep cheese.

The organizers from the association of Cres sheep breeders Pramenka are preparing a rich program for visitors. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the Cres sheep, view collections of sheep, and watch the sheep shearing competition. The competition will be held in male and female categories, and a professional jury will select the best ram and the best collection of sheep.

The entertainment program starts at 7:00 PM, accompanied by a fair of local products and a rich gastronomic offer. Visitors will be able to enjoy lamb on a spit, grilled lamb, lamb with peas, homemade cakes, and the traditional Cres dessert - olito, as well as many other delicacies. The good entertainment until late at night will be ensured by the Folklore Society Orlec, Macaklini, and the popular Alen Vitasović.

During the week, many other events are held on Cres, such as the Klapa evening of Cres Island on Monday, July 8th, in Beli. The exhibition of local products "Creska butega" is held on Tuesdays and Fridays. On Tuesday, July 9th, visitors can join a free guided tour, and on Wednesday, July 10th, the felting workshops "Ovčje ludorije".

The cycle of jazz concerts Cres Summer Jazz Nights starts on Wednesday, July 10th. The concerts will be held every Wednesday in different places on the island, bringing music around the island. The first jazz concert, performed by the Cres Summer Jazz Quartet consisting of Filip Flego, Vanja Čerić, Robi Mikuljan, and Rajko Ergić, will be held on July 10th at 8:30 PM at Consu in Cres.
