September 2024 brought Croatia an exceptional promotion on the Italian national television LA7 through two reports about the beauties of the Zadar County, recognized as one of the most attractive tourist regions in Croatia. In the show "Eden – Pianeta da Salvare", the famous Italian presenter Licia Colò showcased the rich history, cultural landmarks, and natural beauties of the cities of Nin and Zadar, two pearls of the Adriatic coast. The first report, aired in mid-September, dedicated nineteen minutes to Nin, while the second, aired on September 22, detailed Zadar for a duration of 30 minutes.

Nin, the historical center of the Croatian state, became the subject of one of the key reports due to its historical importance and tourist attractions. Located in a picturesque lagoon, Nin is known for the smallest cathedral in the world, the Church of St. Cross, which dates back to the 9th century, as well as for its rich cultural heritage. Viewers also had the opportunity to see numerous other landmarks, such as the monument to Grgur Ninski and the remains of Roman temples, making this small town a must-visit place for visitors to Dalmatia.

On the other hand, Zadar, a city that can boast of its millennia-old history, was the main focus of the second report. The city was portrayed as a place that has survived destruction and successfully transformed into a modern tourist destination. The show particularly highlighted historical locations such as the Church of St. Donatus, the Sea Gate, and the Roman Forum, as well as modern attractions like the Sea Organ and the Greeting to the Sun, which have become symbols of this city. It is precisely these connections between the past and modernity that attract hundreds of thousands of tourists to Zadar every year.

These reports are the result of collaboration between the Croatian Tourist Board, the Zadar County Tourist Board, and Italian media partners. Such projects represent a key promotional tool that helps attract visitors, especially from the Italian market. Zadar and Nin are recognized as tourist destinations that not only offer a rich cultural and historical offer but also spectacular natural beauties like long sandy beaches, clear seas, and preserved historical sites. "Eden – Pianeta da Salvare", a show dedicated to ecological travel and sustainable tourism, has over 500,000 viewers in Italy, achieving significant visibility for Croatia on the international tourist scene.

Under the organization of the Zadar County Tourist Board, study trips for media crews are regularly organized to ensure the best possible presentation of this area. Such activities provide invaluable promotion and have a direct impact on increasing the number of tourists, especially in the period after the summer season when the region offers numerous attractions for all ages and interests. Moreover, local authorities and tourism professionals continuously work on improving infrastructure and providing new experiences for visitors, ensuring the sustainability of tourism in the region.

In addition to natural beauties, Zadar is also known for its cultural events, such as food and wine festivals, as well as sports events. Among the upcoming events in October are the Meat Me Festival, dedicated to traditional Dalmatian gastronomy, and the Zadarhalf Triathlon, an international sports competition that includes three disciplines: swimming, cycling, and running, aimed at promoting active tourism in the region.

This successful promotion shows how Zadar and Nin not only maintain their authenticity and historical charm but also successfully respond to contemporary tourist trends, combining history, culture, and natural beauties to attract new generations of visitors.
