As the sun slowly descends towards the horizon, bathing the Poreč waterfront in golden tones, the last days of summer bring a unique experience for all lovers of exquisite flavors and a relaxed atmosphere. Tonight, August 15, 2025, the curtain falls on the premiere edition of the Summer Wine Park Festival, an event that in just a few days has become an unmissable meeting place and the epicenter of summer events in the heart of Istria. From 7 PM until midnight, one of the most beautiful city jewels, Olge Ban Park, transforms into a magical oasis where the aromas of indigenous wines, the sounds of carefully selected music, and the salty scent of the sea intertwine.

This festival, created as a result of the successful collaboration of the Poreč Tourist Board, the City of Poreč-Parenzo, and the hardworking members of the Agro-Poreč Association, has proven to be a real hit. In a short time, it managed to win the hearts of both the local population and numerous tourists who found their ideal summer refuge in Poreč. The concept is simple but extremely attractive: to offer the essence of the Poreč region in a glass, in a breathtaking ambiance. Olge Ban Park, located right next to the coastal promenade, with its centuries-old treetops and a view of the open sea, provides the perfect backdrop for such an event, creating an atmosphere that is both elegant and casual.

The heart of the Poreč region in a glass: Superb wines from local masters

The backbone and soul of the Summer Wine Park Festival is the presentation of wines from local producers, members of the Agro-Poreč Association, who proudly present the fruits of their labor and love for the grapevine. Visitors have an extraordinary opportunity to discover the richness and diversity of the Poreč region's wine scene in one place. Winemakers whose names are synonymous with quality and tradition have opened their doors, or rather, their stands. There is Vina Brčić, known for its fresh and mineral Malvasias that perfectly reflect the Istrian terroir. Right next to them, Kadum Wines tell a story of family passion poured into elegant and complex wines. Also unmissable are Damjanić Vina, a boutique winery that pushes the boundaries of Istrian winemaking with its innovative approach and award-winning labels.

A walk through the park is also a journey through different styles and characters of wine. Vina Ritoša bring the authentic flavors of the red Istrian soil, with a special emphasis on Teran, while Terzolo Vina delight with the harmony and varietal character of their creations. Visitors can also taste the wines of the DeValentinis family, which has been nurturing tradition for generations, as well as Mušković Vina, whose drops carry the recognizable seal of the microclimate they come from. This concentration of top local winemakers allows for direct contact with the producers, a conversation about the winemaking process, and a deeper understanding of the philosophy behind each bottle. It is an experience that goes beyond mere tasting; it is an immersion into the culture and heritage that Poreč and its surroundings carefully preserve.

More than wine: A lavish palette of Istrian delicacies

To make the experience complete, the festival's offer goes beyond the world of wine. The renowned Agrolaguna with its famous Festigia brand also contributes to this eno-gastronomic story. Wines from the Festigia line represent the pinnacle of production for this great Istrian winemaker and offer visitors the chance to enjoy wines that are regularly crowned with the highest domestic and international awards. For those who crave different flavors, there is the company Martesi. Their stand has become a real attraction thanks to the offer of superb local spirits and imaginative, refreshing cocktails. Master mixologists skillfully combine traditional brandies with modern ingredients, creating drinks that are ideal for warm summer evenings.

A special place at the festival is occupied by the stand with the Istrian Quality (IQ) label, proudly presented by the company Jurikta. The IQ label guarantees the authenticity and top quality of Istrian agricultural products, and here visitors can find a real treasury of indigenous delicacies. The selection includes multi-award-winning olive oils, whose taste and aroma evoke the essence of Istria. In addition to the oils, there are also local brandies, various types of cheeses from small producers, from fresh to aged, and the indispensable cured meat delicacies such as Istrian sausages and prosciutto. This stand functions as an "Istria in miniature," giving visitors the opportunity to taste and buy products in one place that best represent the gastronomic richness of the peninsula.

A magical stage under the starry sky

The choice of location itself greatly contributed to the festival's success. Olge Ban Park, which has already won the "Blue Flower" award for the best-landscaped park in Croatia, has proven to be an ideal stage. Its position by the sea, the dynamic promenade, and the dense canopies of old trees create natural shade and an intimate atmosphere. During the evening, the park comes alive under discreet lighting that creates a play of light and shadow, transforming the entire space into a fairytale forest of flavors and aromas. This green oasis in the very center of the city of Poreč offers an escape from the summer hustle and bustle and provides a feeling of exclusivity and tranquility.

The musical backdrop, for which DJ Mr. G was in charge during all three evenings, was carefully designed to complement the overall experience. His sets, filled with light rhythms and ambient music, do not dominate the space but create a pleasant and sophisticated soundscape that encourages socializing, conversation, and relaxed enjoyment. The combination of the beautiful ambiance, the view of the sea shimmering under the moonlight, superb wines, and pleasant music makes the Summer Wine Park Festival a unique event that enriches the tourist offer and sets new standards for summer entertainment. Do not miss the opportunity to be part of this magic tonight, as this is the last chance to enjoy the premiere edition of the festival that has already announced its bright future.

Tourism desk

Our Travel Desk was born out of a long-standing passion for travel, discovering new places, and serious journalism. Behind every article stand people who have been living tourism for decades – as travelers, tourism workers, guides, hosts, editors, and reporters. For more than thirty years, destinations, seasonal trends, infrastructure development, changes in travelers’ habits, and everything that turns a trip into an experience – and not just a ticket and an accommodation reservation – have been closely followed. These experiences are transformed into articles conceived as a companion to the reader: honest, informed, and always on the traveler’s side.

At the Travel Desk, we write from the perspective of someone who has truly walked the cobblestones of old towns, taken local buses, waited for the ferry in peak season, and searched for a hidden café in a small alley far from the postcards. Every destination is observed from multiple angles – how travelers experience it, what the locals say about it, what stories are hidden in museums and monuments, but also what the real quality of accommodation, beaches, transport links, and amenities is. Instead of generic descriptions, the focus is on concrete advice, real impressions, and details that are hard to find in official brochures.

Special attention is given to conversations with restaurateurs, private accommodation hosts, local guides, tourism workers, and people who make a living from travelers, as well as those who are only just trying to develop lesser-known destinations. Through such conversations, stories arise that do not show only the most famous attractions but also the rhythm of everyday life, habits, local cuisine, customs, and small rituals that make every place unique. The Travel Desk strives to record this layer of reality and convey it in articles that connect facts with emotion.

The content does not stop at classic travelogues. It also covers topics such as sustainable tourism, off-season travel, safety on the road, responsible behavior towards the local community and nature, as well as practical aspects like public transport, prices, recommended neighborhoods to stay in, and getting your bearings on the ground. Every article goes through a phase of research, fact-checking, and editing to ensure that the information is accurate, clear, and applicable in real situations – from a short weekend trip to a longer stay in a country or city.

The goal of the Travel Desk is that, after reading an article, the reader feels as if they have spoken to someone who has already been there, tried everything, and is now honestly sharing what is worth seeing, what to skip, and where those moments are hidden that turn a trip into a memory. That is why every new story is built slowly and carefully, with respect for the place it is about and for the people who will choose their next destination based on these words.
