Huawei has finally introduced its latest generation of smartwatches, the Watch GT 6 series, to the Croatian market — presented with great media interest and technological expectations. The new models, which were globally launched in Paris, bring significant improvements in battery life, design, GPS technology precision, and the overall package of smart functions. With the motto “Ride the Wind,” Huawei wants to emphasize the freedom the device gives the user — without compromising on performance.
Arrival in Croatia and special offer
As of September 30, 2025, the Huawei Watch GT 6 watches are officially available to Croatian customers. Shortly after the global launch, the Chinese manufacturer has also enabled a promotion for our market — with the purchase of any model from the line, the user receives a 30-euro voucher that can be used for upcoming models from the series.
The promotion is for a limited time, so it's a good idea to hurry — at the same time, Huawei announces that the autumn model lineup also includes other products such as the FreeBuds 7i wireless headphones, the new Watch Ultimate 2 smartwatch, and a tablet series following the recent MatePad 11.5 model.
Exceptional autonomy: up to 21 days without charging
One of the key assets of this series is precisely the battery: thanks to new technology with a high silicon content, the battery capacity has been increased by as much as 65% compared to the previous generation. This allows the GT 6 Pro and GT 6 (46 mm) to last up to 21 days under light usage conditions, while the GT 6 (41 mm) model offers autonomy of up to 14 days. In realistic typical use, this means about 12 days for the 46 mm model and about 7 days for the 41 mm model, while the golden period lasts up to 40 hours in GPS mode for outdoor sports. 1
If you turn on the Always On Display (screen constantly "on"), the 46mm model works for up to 7 days, and the 41mm model for up to 5 days — which is still a respectable result given the device's extensive sensor capabilities. 1
Design and craftsmanship — a blend of aesthetics and durability
In terms of design, Huawei has retained recognizable details but also made subtle upgrades. The Pro model features a vertical bezel around the screen, while the display area is 5.5% larger than in previous generations, and the brightness reaches up to 3,000 nits — which guarantees visibility even under bright sun.
The materials are luxurious: sapphire glass on the front, an aerospace-grade titanium case, and nano-ceramics on the back. The straps are available in different versions — leather, woven, milanese, fluoroelastomer — and in shades of black, brown, purple, white, and green, depending on the model. The 46 mm model comes in a green gradation, while the 41 mm model introduces innovative hinged lugs for a better fit on the wrist.
Precision in navigation: Sunflower GPS system
Huawei has upgraded its own positioning system called Sunflower — now with a dual-antenna and advanced GNSS algorithms that provide high accuracy in complex terrains. This is crucial for activities like trail running, cycling, and hiking, where precise measurement of the route, altitude difference, pace, and distance is key. 2
For outdoor sports, the GT 6 can track GPS continuously for up to 40 hours, without the need for additional charging — a significant advantage over many competing models.
Sports functions and a power meter for cycling
A major technological leap for this series is the integration of a **virtual power meter** — a first for the Huawei line. Instead of relying on external sensors, the watch uses advanced algorithms, data on speed, incline, and the user's weight (as well as the bike's) to calculate the current power in watts. This provides users with very precise real-time data without the need for additional equipment.
In addition to cycling, the system supports over 100 sports modes — from trail running, skiing, and golf to walking and other recreational disciplines. Automatic activity recognition is enabled for cycling, with automatic start and pause, without the need to manually begin the workout.
For running, the watch also tracks additional metrics such as ground contact balance, vertical oscillation, stride length, and other analytics relevant to serious runners.
Healthy body, healthy mind: advanced TruSense system
Huawei has expanded its health monitoring module called TruSense. The GT 6 series tracks heart rate continuously, including at night; detects heart rate variability (HRV), measures stress levels, and monitors emotional state through 12 dimensions of emotions. It also records sleep quality, provides recommendations for recovery, and gives warnings for suspected irregular heart rhythms.
The Pro models also have the ability to perform real-time electrocardiogram (ECG) analysis, which is a sought-after feature among users who want more detailed insights into their cardiovascular health.
Compatibility and smart features
All models of the Huawei Watch GT 6 series are compatible with both Android and iOS devices via the Huawei Health app. The watch supports Bluetooth calls directly from the wrist, allowing the user to receive and make calls without needing to have their phone in hand. 3
In addition, the watch allows for the synchronization of additional sensors — such as cadence, speed, power sensors, and others — via Bluetooth to expand the range of measurements. The device also supports offline music playback, and the user can take a selfie using the watch as a remote shutter — which makes it easier to take group photos or photos from a distance.
Safety features include automatic fall detection via a multi-sensor system and an SOS function — in the event of a fall, the watch can send a call or location to predefined contacts (or even to the number 112). 2
Prices and model variants for Croatia
According to available information and local sources, prices in Croatia start from approximately 259 euros for the GT 6 41 mm version (white and purple models). The version with a milanese strap is available for about 329 euros. The standard GT 6 46 mm model costs around 259 euros, while the green color variant reaches 279 euros.
The Pro model (46 mm) is available in black and "sand gold" variants for 379 euros, while the titanium version costs 499 euros. All customers who purchase the watch by October 31, 2025, are entitled to the aforementioned 30 € voucher for future purchases in the GT 6 line.
It should also be noted that in the pre-sale at regional retailers (e.g., Gigatron), you can receive gifts with the watch such as FreeBuds SE 3 headphones, an extended warranty, and a free subscription to the Huawei Health service. 4
What do the first reviewers and critics say?
Early tests and impressions have been published by tech portals. Reviewers point out that the Huawei Watch GT 6 delivers excellent performance in the battery life segment and the ability to "last for weeks" without charging. However, criticisms often relate to limitations in the application ecosystem — the app ecosystem of Huawei watches still does not reach the level of competing platforms in terms of the number and variety of third-party applications.
On the other hand, sports users highly rate the integrated power meter and the reliability of the sensors for running and cycling. However, in the context of smart functions (widgets, payments, standalone apps), Huawei watches still face a challenge in competing with watches that use the Wear OS or Apple Watch platform.
Who is this watch ideal for?
The Huawei Watch GT 6 series is particularly suitable for users who are looking for robust sports features and long-lasting autonomy, and are not so focused on the variety of third-party applications. Cyclists will appreciate the built-in power meter, while runners get detailed metrics and precise route data thanks to the Sunflower GPS. For seasonal hiking, ultra-races, or multi-day trips without the possibility of charging, the GT 6 positions itself as a very serious option.
For users who expect broad application support, payments via the watch, or advanced integrations with third-party systems, it is possible that some of the functionality will still depend on the Huawei Health app and its synchronization capabilities.
1 Autonomy values are based on laboratory tests under controlled conditions. Actual usage may vary significantly depending on settings, lighting, sensor use, and activity intensity.
2 The Sunflower GPS with dual antenna and SOS functions are technological additions according to Huawei's specifications and reviews. 3 Compatibility with Android/iOS and call functionality have been confirmed in the official Huawei specifications. 4 Pre-sale gifts are available at selected regional retailers and may vary depending on stock and promotions.
