Rijeka will host the 45th Convention of the Federation of European Carnival Cities (FECC) from May 10th to May 17th, 2025. This prestigious event will gather around 100 to 150 participants from various countries, including Aruba, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Greece, Finland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Germany, Malta, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, North Macedonia, Sweden, Turkey, and the United States.

The hosting contract was signed by the Mayor of Rijeka, Marko Filipović, FECC President Lars Algell, and the Director of the Rijeka Tourist Board, Petar Škarpa.
