The coastal patrol vessel OOB-31 "Omiš" of the Croatian Coast Guard participated in the international military exercise "ADRION 24", which took place in June 2024 in the waters of the Ionian Sea and on the island of Corfu, organized by the Hellenic Navy.

In addition to the naval personnel and resources of the host country, the exercise included the forces of the naval fleets of Albania, Montenegro, Croatia, Italy, and Slovenia.

The sea activities were preceded by a computer-assisted exercise "ADRION 24 CAX". Besides OOB-31 "Omiš", the sea activities included the Italian patrol vessel P-493 "Comandante Foscari", the Albanian patrol vessel P-134 "Butrint", and the host country’s ships: the missile gunboat P-69 "Lieutenant Krystallidis" and the logistic ship A-374 "Prometheus", serving as the command ship.

The purpose of the "ADRION" exercise is to enhance the level of interoperability and cooperation among participants through joint training in maritime operation techniques and tactics, with an emphasis on addressing security challenges in the wider Adriatic and Ionian Sea region.

This is the main activity of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative (ADRION) conducted annually. Croatia hosted the exercise in 2008, 2014, and 2022.

Distinguished Visitors Day
As part of the exercise, a Distinguished Visitors Day was organized, attended by the Deputy Commander of the Croatian Coast Guard, Captain Zoran Medvidović.

The coastal patrol vessel OOB-31 "Omiš" is part of the Croatian Coast Guard. It is 43.25 meters long, equipped with a 30 mm automatic cannon and two 12.7 mm manually operated machine guns.

The ship's commander is Lieutenant Dario Javorčić.
