Easter on the island of Krk brings a unique blend of natural beauty, cultural heritage, and festive spirit that gathers visitors of all ages. The town of Krk, as one of the most picturesque destinations on the Croatian coast, this spring becomes the center of diverse Easter events that delight visitors in search of relaxation, entertainment, and recreation.

Spring ambiance and tradition at the heart of the island

The town of Krk comes to life in March and April with a festive program celebrating traditions, music, and togetherness. Picturesque streets, stone houses, and a Mediterranean atmosphere become the stage for numerous activities that celebrate Easter in a unique way. With the scent of lavender, olives, and the sea, visitors can experience the island's spirit through creative workshops, musical performances, and guided walks through nature and history.

Creative workshops celebrating Easter and local heritage

The Udruga Rukotvorine Krk during April organizes a series of free workshops that bring together enthusiasts of handicrafts, tradition, and creation. In the space at Trg sv. Kvirina, participants will have the opportunity to learn the crafting of Easter eggs using the felting technique with wool from the Krk sheep, as well as traditional weaving of olive branches. These activities are not only educational but also therapeutic – they allow for relaxation, connection with natural materials, and creative expression.

The workshops are open to everyone, with the note that children under seven years old must be accompanied by an adult. Special emphasis is placed on preserving cultural heritage and intergenerational bonding through collective creation.

Storytelling walk through the island's natural beauty

On Saturday, April 19, an unforgettable guided walk titled "Zlatne kapi krčkog blaga" will take place. This thematic tour includes parts of the famous Camino route, passes by dry stone walls and centuries‐old olive groves, and offers a unique experience of the local flora and fauna. During the walk, visitors will listen to stories about the history of olive growing, the lifestyle of islanders, and the importance of preserving ecological balance.

The highlight of the tour is a visit to the plantation KuSshh near the settlement Vrh – a fragrant oasis where more than 60 plant species are cultivated. Guests will be able to taste organic olive oils and refreshing herbal beverages, produced with a love for nature.

Tour length: 14 km
Duration: 4 hours of walking + 1 hour of tasting
Start: town quay at 9:30 (gathering from 9:00 by the Sun Clock)

Festive morning with music and indigenous flavors

Easter Sunday in Krk offers the perfect start to the day at Vela placa, where from 11:30 traditional island pinca – a sweet bread indispensable on the Easter table – will be distributed. Visitors can also expect a musical performance by Tine Vukov and Nikolina Tomljanović, two exceptional artists who combine elegance, emotion, and outstanding vocal performances.

Their musical repertoire, filled with a Mediterranean ambiance and contemporary notes, will create a warm atmosphere in which visitors of all ages will enjoy. Their joint performance symbolizes unity, art, and the festive spirit that Krk cherishes.

Recreation on two wheels: Cycling tour through the Krk landscape

Easter Monday, April 21, is reserved for the cycling tour "Local Bike Sightseeing Tour", ideal for all who wish to combine light recreation with the exploration of the island's natural beauty. The route, 23 kilometers long, leads through picturesque places such as Kimpi, Lakmartina, and Kornić, and past Kaštel Salatić, a historical site that reveals the island's rich past.

Participation is free, but the number of spots is limited. Cyclists must have a technically sound mountain bike and a helmet. Children under 18 can participate with parental consent. The tour is organized by the Tourist Board of the Town of Krk and Infinity sport – Bike centar Krk.

Krk City Music Concert: An evening filled with melodies

The day ends ceremoniously with the Krk City Music Concert at Vela placa, starting at 18:00. This orchestra, with a long tradition, brings together musicians of all generations who cherish classical and popular melodies, providing a genuine musical experience in the heart of the town.

Their performances regularly attract the attention of local and foreign guests, and the Easter concert is the perfect opportunity to experience the island's spirit through notes that resonate along the stone streets of Krk. Tourism desk

Our Travel Desk was born out of a long-standing passion for travel, discovering new places, and serious journalism. Behind every article stand people who have been living tourism for decades – as travelers, tourism workers, guides, hosts, editors, and reporters. For more than thirty years, destinations, seasonal trends, infrastructure development, changes in travelers’ habits, and everything that turns a trip into an experience – and not just a ticket and an accommodation reservation – have been closely followed. These experiences are transformed into articles conceived as a companion to the reader: honest, informed, and always on the traveler’s side.

At the Travel Desk, we write from the perspective of someone who has truly walked the cobblestones of old towns, taken local buses, waited for the ferry in peak season, and searched for a hidden café in a small alley far from the postcards. Every destination is observed from multiple angles – how travelers experience it, what the locals say about it, what stories are hidden in museums and monuments, but also what the real quality of accommodation, beaches, transport links, and amenities is. Instead of generic descriptions, the focus is on concrete advice, real impressions, and details that are hard to find in official brochures.

Special attention is given to conversations with restaurateurs, private accommodation hosts, local guides, tourism workers, and people who make a living from travelers, as well as those who are only just trying to develop lesser-known destinations. Through such conversations, stories arise that do not show only the most famous attractions but also the rhythm of everyday life, habits, local cuisine, customs, and small rituals that make every place unique. The Travel Desk strives to record this layer of reality and convey it in articles that connect facts with emotion.

The content does not stop at classic travelogues. It also covers topics such as sustainable tourism, off-season travel, safety on the road, responsible behavior towards the local community and nature, as well as practical aspects like public transport, prices, recommended neighborhoods to stay in, and getting your bearings on the ground. Every article goes through a phase of research, fact-checking, and editing to ensure that the information is accurate, clear, and applicable in real situations – from a short weekend trip to a longer stay in a country or city.

The goal of the Travel Desk is that, after reading an article, the reader feels as if they have spoken to someone who has already been there, tried everything, and is now honestly sharing what is worth seeing, what to skip, and where those moments are hidden that turn a trip into a memory. That is why every new story is built slowly and carefully, with respect for the place it is about and for the people who will choose their next destination based on these words.
