Minister of Tourism and Sports, Tonči Glavina, has made a decision on the allocation of financial resources for co-financing sports programs to encourage local sports and sports competitions, and training of non-swimmers "Hrvatska Pliva" in 2024. A total of EUR 3.42 million will be allocated for 192 sports programmes and EUR 484,486 for 32 training programmes for non-swimmers.
Croatian tourism recorded a growth of 6 percent in arrivals and 2 percent in overnight stays in the first six months of this year. The Adriatic and continental Croatia achieved a significant increase, while Zagreb recorded 8 percent more overnight stays.

Croatia was among the first countries to sign the Convention for the Protection of the Danube River in 1994, along with Austria, Bulgaria, Germany and other countries. This year we celebrate 30 years of the convention and 20 years of Danube Day.
According to the Croatian National Bank, revenues from foreign tourists in the first quarter of 2024 amounted to EUR 824.7 million, which represents a significant increase of 24.61% compared to the same period last year. Minister of Tourism and Sports Tonči Glavina emphasizes the importance of continuous efforts in promoting Croatia as a year-round tourist destination.
According to the latest data from the European Environment Agency, Croatia ranks third in Europe in terms of bathing sites with excellent sea and bathing water quality in 2023, behind Cyprus and Austria.
